JIWACAMP MANTA BAY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read all the terms and conditions carefully and thoroughly.
Understand the Terms
CO: Jiwacamp Campsite Operator, the team responsible for managing the Jiwacamp campsite.
Camper: The person who makes the booking and all registered individuals or groups staying under that booking.
Beach Management: The authority or appointed operator responsible for managing the Sungai Karang beach area.
Land Owner: The individual or entity that owns the private land where Jiwacamp Manta Bay is situated.
Slot: The specific camping lot assigned by the CO within the Zone booked by the Camper.
Zone: An area within Jiwacamp Manta Bay that is separated according to its location, characteristics, and price.
Booking Conditions
- Bookings are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- The Camper agrees to provide accurate and complete information when booking and checking in.
- The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old.
- Only registered Campers are allowed to stay at the campsite.
- Each Slot is limited to a maximum of seven people.
- The Camper agrees to pay the full amount due at the time of booking.
- Campers may select and book a Zone but cannot select a specific Slot.
- The exact Slot within the booked Zone will be assigned by the CO.
- Preferred Slot requests may be written in the Booking Notes. The CO will try to accommodate the request, but placement is not guaranteed.
- The CO’s final Slot assignment must be accepted by the Camper.
- A booking date may be changed only once, subject to availability.
- A date-change request must be made at least seven days before the original check-in date.
- The replacement date must fall within the same calendar year as the original booking.
- No refund will be provided if the replacement date or Zone has a lower price.
- Any additional amount must be paid if the replacement date or Zone has a higher price.
- Jiwacamp may postpone a booking for safety, weather, comfort, or operational reasons. The Camper will be asked to select another available date.
Check-In and Check-Out Policy
- Campers may check in after 1:00 pm on their booking date.
- Campers must check out before 1:00 pm on the final date of their booking.
- Early check-in or late check-out is allowed only with prior approval from the CO and is subject to Slot availability.
- Campers are not allowed to enter early in the morning or late at night before their actual check-in date.
- Campers who expect to arrive late must contact the CO in advance.
- Failure to check in or contact the CO by 11:59 pm on the booking date may result in the booking being treated as a no-show and cancelled without a refund.
Campsite Rules
- The Camper agrees to comply with all campsite rules and regulations.
- The Camper is responsible for the conduct of every member of their party.
- Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.
- KARAOKE AND LOUD MUSIC ARE STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED.
- Guitar playing and campsite singing are permitted at a reasonable volume that does not disturb other Campers.
- Hailers or speakers must not be used for announcements unless the group has booked the entire campsite and obtained approval from the CO.
- Metal-detecting activities are strictly prohibited within Jiwacamp Manta Bay. Anyone who disobeys this rule may be removed from the campsite or reported to the relevant authorities.
- Electricity is supplied through the TNB electrical system for 24 hours.
- Electricity may only be used to charge mobile devices, batteries, laptops, and other low-powered equipment.
- RICE COOKERS, ELECTRIC KETTLES, ELECTRIC STOVES, ELECTRIC GRILLS, IRONS, AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT ABOVE 150 WATTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED. A FINE OF RM500 WILL BE IMPOSED ON CAMPERS WHO DISOBEY THIS RULE.
- Open fires are not allowed except in designated areas or when using a proper fire pit or BBQ pit.
- The Camper must respect the boundaries of their assigned Slot.
- Tents, ropes, poles, flysheets, and other equipment must not cross into a neighbouring Slot without permission.
- Vehicles are generally not allowed to remain inside the camping area.
- Vehicles may enter temporarily only for loading and unloading before being returned to the designated parking area.
- Only four-wheel-drive vehicles equipped with rooftop tents may be permitted to camp within the Sea Front Zone, subject to prior approval from the CO.
- Normal cars are not permitted for car camping within the camping area.
- Any towing or recovery cost for a vehicle stuck in the sand must be paid by the Camper.
- The Camper must keep their campsite clean and free of litter.
- All waste must be disposed of in the designated areas.
- Campers must not urinate on the sandy floor of the campsite, including inside changing tents, unless a proper portable potty is used.
- The Camper must not damage or remove any trees, plants, natural materials, or wildlife.
- Firearms and weapons are not allowed within the camping area.
- Pets are not allowed within the camping area.
Liability
- The Camper acknowledges that they are responsible for their own safety and the safety of every member of their party.
- The Camper agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Jiwacamp, its CO, Beach Management, and the Land Owner from claims or damages caused by the Camper’s negligence, misconduct, breach of these terms, or misuse of the campsite or beach facilities.
- Jiwacamp, its CO, Beach Management, and the Land Owner are not responsible for any loss of or damage to the Camper’s personal belongings unless the loss or damage is proven to have been directly caused by their negligence.
- Campers must follow all safety instructions, temporary closures, evacuation orders, and directions issued by the CO, Beach Management, the Land Owner, or emergency authorities.
Environmental Expectations
- Jiwacamp Manta Bay is situated on privately owned land beside an open beach and seawater environment.
- The natural environment may contain marine wildlife, insects, reptiles, uneven ground, sand, trees, tides, waves, and other natural hazards.
- Some fish, marine animals, insects, or reptiles may be venomous or dangerous. Campers must remain observant and cautious at all times.
- Jiwacamp encourages a peaceful and harmonious camping experience.
- Campers must respect the peace and privacy of others by minimising noise, especially during quiet hours.
- Operational noise from activities such as leaf blowing, cleaning, maintenance, or campsite operations may occur.
- Jiwacamp will make reasonable efforts to minimise unnecessary noise while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Strong winds, heavy rain, storms, high tides, and rough sea conditions may cause injury or damage to tents, vehicles, equipment, and other personal property.
- Jiwacamp Manta Bay has historically not been washed out by high tides. However, natural and weather conditions cannot be predicted or guaranteed.
- Campers must move away from the beach or affected area and follow the CO’s instructions whenever high tides, strong winds, lightning, rough waves, or other unsafe conditions are detected.
- The CO regularly monitors trees and branches within the camping Zones. However, falling branches and trees are natural risks that cannot always be predicted.
- Campers must remain cautious, report any tree or branch that appears unsafe, and move away from the affected area when instructed by the CO.
By booking and paying for a campsite at Jiwacamp Manta Bay, the Camper confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
Jiwacamp may update these terms and conditions when required for safety, operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
The version accepted at the time of booking will apply to that booking. Campers will be informed of any material change that affects an existing booking.
